The Newport News Police Department maintains separate accreditation in its Training Academy and it's 9-1-1 Communications Center, as well as for the agency as a whole
These details perform a wide variety of research activities resulting in the production of various reports and recommendations that assist agency management in making program and purchasing decisions. This includes conducting a survey of citizen's attitudes and opinions once every 3 years.
