Newport News Children's Festival of Friends- Newport News Park
Over 100 free, hands-on activities including make-and-take crafts, rides (pony rides, trackless train, moon bounces and slides), fitness activities, costume characters, educational exhibits, and displays by City Departments and community organizations that serve children. King-Lincoln Park Day- King-Lincoln Park
Cancelled due to saturated grounds and rain.The festival features a broad range of free activities for all ages including make-and-take crafts, free Bingo (ages 50 & up), sports activities, community exhibits, and entertainment. Kids will enjoy free face painting, a moon bounces, and giant slides. Everyone can enjoy free sno cones and free cotton candy! Free admission, free parking. Food vendors ($). Thursdays, July 18, August 15 & September 19, 2019; 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM
Third Thursdays Live!- City Center at Oyster Point
The event will take place on the Gazebo Stage and will feature live music, beverage sales and food vendors. The bands for the series are BuckShot (July 18), Slapnation (August 15) and Anthony Rosano & the Conqueroos (September 19). Beverage sales (beer, wine) will benefit the Woman’s Club of Newport News. Admission and parking are free. Parking is located in the Mariners Row, Fountain Way, and Merchants Walk parking garages in City Center. Chairs are allowed. No outside alcoholic beverages allowed.

4th of July Stars in the Sky- Victory Landing Park
Fireworks rescheduled for July 5, 2019 at 9:30 pm (FIREWORKS ONLY).
The event begins with free children’s rides (giant slides, moon bounces, obstacle courses), free face painting, and entertainment. A spectacular fireworks light up the sky over the James River at 9:30 PM. Free admission, free parking. Food vendors ($).
Saturday, August 24, 2019; 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM
World Arts Celebration- City Center at Oyster Point
The diverse cultures in Newport News are celebrated through performances, exhibits of traditional art and crafts, authentic international food vendors, and free hands-on activities. Free admission, free parking. Food and merchandise vendors ($).
Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6, 2019; 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM
Newport News Fall Festival- Newport News Park
The festival features over 150 exhibitors showcasing crafts, heritage trade demonstrations, entertainment, children’s activities, craft beer, and food. Free admission, $5.00 per car parking fee. City Center Oyster Roast- City Center at Oyster Point
Enjoy roasted oysters, local seafood specialties, food trucks, and live music. Beverage sales benefit local charities. Free admission, free parking. Food and beverage vendors (pay-as-you-go, $).
