Shooting/Aggravated Assault

I’m Master Police Officer Brandon Maynard.  The Newport News Police Department needs your help to solve a past shooting/aggravated assault.

On June 1st, 2019 at 8:27 PM, Newport News Police were dispatched to Kings Ridge, located in the 400 block of Jester Court in reference to multiple calls for gunshots heard in the area. Shortly after, the call was upgraded to a shooting. Officers were advised of a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers arrived in the area and located multiple casings in the area of King Arthur Court. Officers continued to search the area and located the victim inside a vehicle in the 700 block of King’s Ridge Drive suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was identified as a 31 year-old Newport News man. He was transported by a medic to a local hospital for further treatment. The investigation remains ongoing.
