The Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) (PDF) forges an ongoing interactive program of support and understanding between the NNPD and the citizens of Newport News. All 3 Academy graduates (Citizen Police Academy, Citizen Policy Academy for Seniors, Police Academy for Youth) are eligible for membership into CPAAA. The academy shall provide a forum wherein police may benefit from the citizen's perspective of the efficiency and the quality of policing services provided.
