Newport News Waterworks has published its annual Water Quality Report, which provides information on where your drinking water comes from, how it is treated, and results from water quality tests in 2007. Waterworks customers will find a copy of the report in their April or May water bill and an expanded version of the report is available online. |
The City Manager presented his proposed Fiscal Year 2008-2009 budget to City Council on Tuesday, March 25. The proposed FY09 budget can be viewed online and is also available for review at all Newport News public libraries. |
The City of Newport News offers real estate tax relief for elderly and disabled Newport News homeowners. The application period is April 1 through August 31 each year. Relief is available in three levels (full exemption, partial exemption and deferral) depending on income and assets. Any relief awarded during this period will apply to the homeowner’s December 2008 and June 2009 tax bills. Applications are available online and can also be obtained at either location of the Commissioner of the Revenue’s office – 2400 Washington Avenue or 12912 Jefferson Avenue – or by contacting their office at 926-3535 or commish@nngov.com. |
